I'll have to check it out. I think I remember reading that some of the lakes in Florida were stocked with Golden Shiners and they did pretty good down there.

The Alewives they stocked up here are supposed to help , but I don't know. I guess the theory is that they make use of a different part of the water column than the Gizzards do , so they would survive when the shad didn't.

I wish I knew VDGIF's position on shiners in SML. I wouldn't think they would be concerned mainly because it's an artificial lake with artificially maintained populations of fish , but I guess there's a lot of science that goes into managing it that I can't begin to understand.
