Temperature changes do affect us sometimes , but lakes go through " turn overs " that kind of help keep fish from being shocked by temp changes like you would see in saltwater. DGIF has stocked Alewives to help with rapid declines in the Gizzard Shad populations , but they haven't been tested yet. I know shiners do OK on the feeder creeks , but I'm not sure if they can reproduce fast enough to have a big impact on the lake as a whole. Hard to say - I'm just a dumb fisherman!
LOL , come on now , I know you've seen Speckled Trout die in the winter... Not that I like it , but it happens. Snook did the same thing in Florida a few years back.
