I wouldn't use the braid for a shock leader, you might have to grab the leader for a fish or a big piece of trash. Braid can also cut grooves in the line guides on the rod over time, I've seen it.
The 20 lb / 60 lb line setup will work fine. Just guessing your sweet spot might be 5 ozs on the rod and you could use 15 lb Big Game for a running line with 40 lb Big Game for a shock leader if your not fishing a crowded area which could give you a little more distance. The storm style sinkers will give you an extra oz of holding power if you need it, a 5 oz is like a 6 oz. Might be something to do later on after you try it out for awhile.
I set the drag tight enough to throw it without the line slipping but loose enough that a big fish can pull line off in the sand spike. You'll like the reel, it has a lot of cranking power to land the fish when you get one.
