Wow! That looks like some solid advice. I hope I'm not missing out on too much by not having a 12'-14' rod. I bought the 9' Surf King last year and a 10' Emblem this year. I only have room for one more set up in my budget this year. You have me wondering if I would be better off putting my money into a longer rod versus a nice set up for throwing spoons.

I have seen photos of some crazy 704z's that were heavily modified. Might be a fun project some time.

I included a link to the eBay seller I bought the Emblems from. Bought a 9' for my father-in-law as a birthday gift. 10' for myself. Winning bids were $55 for the 10' and $53.50 for 9'. $27 total shipping. Fast shipper. Don't know what you are looking for, but thought I'd share since I had a good experience. I don't know the guy at all. He also has some listed as "buy it now". Couple 13' rods listed with two days left of the auction.
