Thanks for the response. I have zero experience with casting outfits, so I will try to avoid "professional over-runs" by sticking with a spinning rig. I really enjoyed the Emcast last year, but I don't have anything to compare it to. Figured if I was missing out on a better alternative someone here might speak up. May just order another Emcast.

I hear you on investing in a good rod for lures. It would be terrible to have the fish just slightly out of reach knowing that for a few dollars more you'd be catching instead of watching. Unfortunately, living in rural VA doesn't offer me an opportunity to get my hands on different rods before purchase.
