About the only thing I've found that will stop blossom end rot is liming every year like J.D. said. It's a calcium deficiency and it's mostly just the first few tomatoes on a plant that get it. After they get bid enough , tomato plants make their own calcium. I know a few people that use calcium chloride sprays that are commercially available for end rot , but most have had mixed results.
Blight is a tough one to stop if it takes hold. I usually use liquid copper and mix it a little on the light side. I spray about every 10 days or so to prevent it from starting.
