Peppers & Tomatoes

I don't think I cooked with any of them, I didn't get a whole lot of those peppers. They did turn red when ripe, I usually picked them when the peppers just started to turn red.
The best producers always here are the regular cayenne, small size jalapeno, Hungarian yellow wax, those peppers all have plenty of heat to me and seem to think they are in Mexico. Habanero if you want extreme, that one is too hot for me even for cooking. The yellow bell peppers have always done better than green bell peppers.
The red tomatoes Big Beef I had this year almost died during the summer and came back, turned out good before Sandy hit. I thought it was just me but seemed to be the whole area with the dying tomatoes. I got some yellow Jubilee from Kitty Hawk Garden Center that didn't and were loaded when the others looked dead, they died by the end of the summer like usual with yellow tomatoes.
The best tomatoes I've seen grown here was by one of the out of state neighbors one year. He wasn't going to be here for awhile and told me to pick them. I picked almost two crab bushel baskets full of all unblemished baseball size tomatoes that day. It was a single plant by an outside hose that had a slow leak all summer. He said the tomato was Celebrity. I haven't been able to do that with them, I think the slow leak is what did it. I've been thinking maybe around the outside air conditioner drain might work if it gets enough sun and K-Mart usually has a bunch of those tomatoes. I forgot about it this past year.
