It can cut grooves in the guides on your rod. Thought I'd let you know the Rundown Cafe in Kitty Hawk opened March 1st. Avalon Pier is going to open March 20th for the season.

I think Outer Banks Pier in South Nags Head might be the best way to go with a wind and current coming out of the south when they open. The water temperature might be a little warmer there from Oregon Inlet just looking at Rutgers.
