Back then I knew the big bluefish weren't going to be around one day. According to the NCDMF site the commercial tuna fishermen are the cause. The beach netters didn't seem to be interested in them at the time. I'm just saying I saw a lot of waste by the recs that I'm sure didn't help and I would guess this was probably happening everywhere like other states. Back in the 70s the larger size big bluefish and overall numbers were disappearing. It was also really aggravating watching who could make the biggest mess on the beach especially when I was fishing there days afterwards and had to smell them. I think now they probably would be ate by more people.
