The I-64 flow tends to be fast like the Autobahn highway and the traffic is always bad near the Hampton Roads area.

Woods can be pretty all along I-64 if you catch the dogwoods and wisteria trees blooming around early to middle May.

The 460 route is a lot more relaxing but you do have to watch the speed limit signs going through those little towns.

Best bathroom pit stops are the gas station / truck stop before you get on for Norfolk and the Dairy Queen in Windsor.

I'll usually get something and the best places to eat are the Virginia Diner in Wakefield and Cowling's BBQ in Waverly.

I like the BBQ sauce at Cowling's it's a thick vinegary one and they sell bottles. I always try to get a couple of them.
