They put in a new interstate bypass I295 around the Richmond area, I've only been on it one time but was not crowded.

You can get off below on 460 and head towards Suffolk then to Norfolk get off on 17 or 168 and head towards the beach.

In the Norfolk area you want to avoid the 4 to 5pm rush hour whatever way you go just time yourself to miss that mess.
