HA! If we're talking about the same trail , that joker is steep. I went down it one time , and like you got rained on while I was fishing and had a hell of a time getting back out of there. If I remember right it's called the Fisherman's Trail and it puts you in about 3 miles. One of the shelters is pretty close to where you come in at. Great place to fish. A lot of the serious Cranberry fisherman have mountain bikes tricked out with rod holders and baskets to hold waders etc.

If you ever have a chance you should check out the New River float trips in the link below. They float a lot of the water I used to fish.

I know all about those ramps. Richwood has a ramp festival every year. I can remember when I was in school , people would get sent home for eating too many ramps and stinking up the classroom. I'd rather dig ginseng.
