i recomend the folks over at fishing unlimited,their tackle shop is right next to the little bridge on the causeway and they offer guided sound trips plus rental boats.the guys there never steer ya wrong.as a bonus they also run obx pier at mp18.5.think about these as options to that $$$$$$$$ offshore trip.
