Sort of same thing in Duck last year. Was throwing a Kastmaster in a nice hole for about 20 min. Kid about 15 launched a surfboard about 10 ft. right of me(my fishing buddy told me later).Did't see him was looking left, the pull was going that way.He went out about 20 yards and made a hard left.Just completed a cast when I saw him.Did't reel hoping the line would sink. Using braid, that didn't happen.He kept paddling left and despite my yelling didn't stop. Kept paddling til the lure snaged in the belt of his trunks. Few inches lower opps.After he got to shore just cut off the Kastmaster and let him have it.Duck lifeguard saw the whole thing and wondered what he was thinking.I have no problems letting surfers have their space but they have to give us ours.First come gets the beach.
