Good rememberance of your grandfather. Nice how even brief memories stay w/ us, and we carry on traditions.

Welcome to the board!!

During the winter we usually slip a bit off fishin, eatin etc., and do some stories, and ribbin. (Usually they pick on me:):)

My grandfathers were 1st and 2nd generation. One a carpenter that couldn't speak English, and the other an entrepreneur and inventor. Neither had time for fishin. I learned a bit about business from one and a whole lot about carpentry from the other. Wouldn't have traded away either of them.

Dad was real busy all the time, but as he could made time to take me fishin. All freshwater. Had to learn saltwater from scratch 31 years ago...1st time we vacationed on the Outer Banks was really a sight. Fished surf w/ 5 foot freshwater casting rod. (Salt ate the bail right off.) Tried to crab in the surf too. No one offered help or advice that 1st year either!!

In later years at the beach the family was mistaken for "devil" worshipers, but thats another story for another day.
