Another Story

See, you should never ask old guys for stories:):)

When kids were small and in private school there was no money for vacations.

Bought a Michicraft canoe to get the kids out once in a while. Let the kids name it. 1st time out at local lake took kids out one at a time to paddle and get the hang of it. Then, being they were all experts w/i 1/2 hour, piled them all in w/ me in middle. We were close to a small river/creek that fed the lake. They opted to paddle up the river. Wasn't but couple of minutes and we were headed toward a willow tree overhanging the river. No amount of coaching from dad helped ... we were headed for that tree w/ all its branches hanging into the river.

Well it was hot that day. Shady spots were at a premium ... not just for humans, as we were soon to find out!!

We hit those branches and (water)snakes fell into the canoe like snow. Must've been 15 in there in 10 seconds. You can imagine rest of the story!!
