I sure did not intend to imply I favored the ban at all as I do not. It is just one of those poetic justice notions that tend to come out when things like this surface. I do agree it would not be good for the area and many would experience financial losses IF it happens. I am however suprise at the notion that there is not a lot of litter on the beaches. As Tom stated above I feel the parking lot to the cat walk is a trash pit! Maybe not today, but I have seen people sleeping in their vehicles for several days there during this past summer and BAGS and BAGS of trash left. Too lazy to walk it over to the dumpsters. Maybe it's just a matter of what I consider a lot of litter and what another feels is a lot of litter. And Carol is also correct about the situation on the roads. Actually, I suspect the roads are far worse than the beaches. I guess I just do not have ANY level of tolerance for it. But the same goes on in mountain streams and lakes as well, so it's not only beaches. You know, I just wonder about the real impact by people who say they won't come here any more. I just suspect that as long as the fishing is good people will come and find a way to get to places where they can fish. But the reason for the comment to begin with was to encourage people to speak out. I expect most, if not all, who read this board would oppose the ban. Aside from that, I suppose I was disappointed more did not show up to speak out at meeting this past week. I am disappointed at myself for not going. I just hope it is not too late to try to do something.
