I just want to say that I also love the beaches of the Outer Banks just as much as the next guy. I have a house in South Nags Head and every time I walk the beach with my dog I make it a point to pick up and throw out any trash I find washed up. If we all did that imagine how much cleaner the beach would look. It also pains me to see fishermen and women drop trash in the water, on catwalks, or in parking lots when the dumpsters and cans are just a short walk away. I am glad the beach patrol installed trash cans at the ends of the public beach access a few years ago. I definitely don't want to take away from the natural beauty and make the beaches look like Ocean City or Daytona Beach, but if we kept it clean and threw away cans and bottles our kids kids could enjoy it too.

Its also hazardous to the wildlife when people throw stuff over the piers and catwalks. Seals, sharks, birds and other fish wind up with this trash in their stomach and end up suffocating and dieing.

Ok now that Im off my soap box, I have to go work on my "honey-do" list. Have a great weekend everyone and I cant wait to come down again.
