We went a different approach to a different situation. What we made is for pier fishing and bridge fishing only. We took a 4 wheeled garden cart with a handle purchased at home depot years ago and modified it just a little. We took 1 1/2" pvc pipe and zip tied it in 2 foot pieces to the cart's front on top and bottom for rod holders. We also took a galvanized 1 1/2" floor flange and bolted it to the bottom of the cart. Took a pvc male fitting and screwed into it. Took a 2' pice of pipe and hooked to that. On the top of the pipe we did the male fitting and floor flange again and bolted a cutting board on to the flange. We have a cutting board a little over waist high that is secure and can be taken down for travel to cut bait on. Don't know how it will do in the sand, but the wheels are 10". It will hold our generator, coolers, poles, tackle box, and net. I hope it works. We'll see in October!
