Taking care of Bloodworms

What dude mentioned is correct. They will kill each other if you don't take care of them. I used to buy 8-10 bags at a time from a tackle shop in Wakefield , VA before I headed down to the Outer Banks. Heat will kill them also.
The best way to keep them is to lay them ON TOP of the ice in a cooler. You can turn the bags they are in over a couple of times a day or mix them up in the seaweed they come in to prevent them from biting each other.
Man that guy in Wakefield used to get some big worms. A bag of ten might have 6 feet of worms in it. He's changed suppliers though and like anything dealing with water and fish - things aren't like they used to be.
My experience with the imitation Bloodworms has been mixed. If a big school of spots is around and hitting bloodworms , the imitation is great. Days when fish aren't biting much I'd rather have real ones.
The fish you want to catch wants more of a meal than a bloodworm anyways , they're just good to get started catching something to cut up for bait.
Good luck!
