Back at ya...

Circa early 1980's. W/ buddy. Have our 7 kids w/ us. Crabbing in sound in Duck at the end of Olde Duck Beach Rd. About 150 ft offshore. Kids spread out over about 50 ft. Haulin em in, us dads keepin buckets upright.

Notice snake coming slowly towards us slowly from the shore. Not to raise alarm, just instruct whole crew to move north 100 ft. Snake adjusts and keeps comin. Bark out the order to move 200 ft. south. Snake adjusts again.

Now snake about 20 ft. away and still closing.

Was not about to wait till snake close enuf for I.D. as P.O'd water snake bad news too.

Played last card...

Hollered "SNAAAAAAAAAAAKE ,every man for himself." Kids took off north again, hootin and hollerin. Thankfully, all the commotion in the water scared the snake off... Figure he was just checkin out the action in his water. You had to be there:):)
