Final thoughts....

Fished last night and first thing this am. Got into some nice mullet on real bloods. Gave up on shrimp and fake bloods. Surf a little heavier than the past days. Small schools of small fish that looked like spearing were breaking here and there at sunrise. Threw the kastmaster around with no luck. In the evening, I Rigged up some cut spot on a floating bluefish rig. Threw it right at the drop off (per king) and still caught a small ray. Couldn’t put cut bait in the water without catching a ray. Chatted with a guy who drove up from nags head looking for better fishing. Sounds like he had the same experience down that way. I told him he would have probably been better off to the south then the north of nags head.
Normally I wouldn't have fished so much during the family vacation but covid kept us from going to town. A few years ago I remember a guy asking me when the best time to fish ... I always say the best to fish is when you can. So I did.
