Report day 2-1/2

Wrenched my back earlier in the week so had to leave the yak at home. Left sat 1 am wanting to get across the wright memorial before 9am. Drove some biblical rain from Fred down the Delmarva peninsula. 35 mph for hours. Hope you guys avoided that rain.
After stopping for supplies. Bait shop had bloods but limited to one bag per house. Grabbed a bag and some shrimp and made our way up to the house by 11 am. Had a line in the water by 11:30. Caught some nice mullet. Fished for a couple hours and went back to the house for a power nap.
Got early Sunday saw some jumping fish before sunrise threw a kastmaster. Ended up catching a small skate that I foul hooked in the tail. A woman came down with her little boy about 8 or so. I asked him if he wanted to fish and I rigged up a small rod with some bloods. Had a steady pick of small mullet. He was thrilled. Love to see kids get hooked on fishing. Went back out Sunday night. Was dead calm and so was the fishing. Managed one nice spot that went into the bait cooler.
Just got back from this mornings adventure. Got on the water about 6:30am. Dead calm again with hardly any surf. Saw lots of jumping fish. Threw some metal around with no results. Got out the big rod and put on a piece of fresh spot and chucked it out where the fish were jumping. They looked like small blues out there. 5 min later reel starts screaming. 30 min later I found out it was a big ray. Hate those things. That was enough of that so I went back to the little rod and picked away at some mullet before hanging it up.
Right now the fish are favoring the real bloods over the shrimp and won’t even touch the fake bloods. Lots of grass behind the first breaker. Need a nice east wind to push that grass out and turn the fishing on.
