We got these mobile life guards up here now. One I’ve come to know spearfishes was asking where the wreck is up our way. I looked up and for the first time I recent memory, there was a boat fishing it. Rick you were right. Folks probably fishing it more than I think.
Same old same old... light west wind has the waves down to the height you’d see in a small lake. Dead calm and so is the fishing. Same fish were jumping here and there this morning but closer this time. They looked like weakfish or croakers in the 12-15” range. Tried metal, mirror lures and some top water this morning and they just aren’t having any of it. Had something on the kastmaster for about 2 seconds. Probably foul hookedsomething. Can’t figure if they’re chasing bait or if they are the bait. I usually figure it out by now. Tomorrow’s family day in town so we’ll have to hit the B&t to add some things to the arsenal. Maybe just the wrong colors.
I put on some shrimp and tossed it waaaay out to try to catch whatever’s jumping out there. Caught these ridiculously small croakers about 3-4”. I don’t know how they even got the hook in the the mouths. Impossible to tell when you even have one on the line with a 12’ rod. Didn’t think Of it till I was packing up but I’m going to try to live line one of suckers.
Wish I had the yak. It’s absolutely perfect conditions but My back still hurts if I sit too long. I’m going to have to figure it out from shore.
Owner I met today live Lives a few blocks down the road said his neighbor caught some ribbon fish on metal yesterday morning. Right time right place I guess.
