My advice is to get out there early and get your anchor line out first or second. I've done a good bit of pin rigging and I still don't like to cast when I have to put it right between 2 or 3 other rigs. All of the piers are different , but at Rodanthe we've always laid our rods with the 2nd or 3rd guide from the tip on the rail rather than having them standing straight up , so people can cast over them if they need to. I haven't been on jeanettes since it reopened ,so I have no idea how they fish there.
Braided line is frowned upon because it can cut other peoples' line.
If your trying to catch a bluefish or spanish for bait , try to avoid snagging other peoples rigs. Being generous with bait will put you on the regulars' good side.
That's about all I've got. I've actually had more trouble from the average bottom fisherman - they don't understand that the end is usually reserved for king and drum rigs , so they get mad if you ask them to move for a minute , so you can cast. They'll usually back off when you start swinging a 12 footer around with a big anchor on the end.
