Thx for the tip Rick. Had to leave the yak at home this trip. The weather man wasn’t predicting the most favorable conditions. Now, the forecasts are changing hourly. Supposed to be 85% Chance of thunder showers at 11am, then 12 then 2 then 3 and finally it sprinkled for about 5 minutes and the sky’s cleared up.

Fishing is great, catching is slow. Winds have been ENE. The sloughs are narrow and it’s tough to cast into the outer ones when the tides up. Waves kinda breaks all over and there are holes here and there. My wave reading is the best and could use improvement. Had to do some wading at low tide to find holes. Sea grass seems to come and go. Times where it you can’t fish but if you wait it out it seems to pass. Managed a pompano yesterday morning and it’s been sporadic small roundheads all day yesterday. Kept 2 roundheads for bait and can’t get anything interested. Local fishing beside me managed a few over slot reds and one slot a few days before we got here. Showed me pics. Was hoping this east wind would push some bait in. Haven’t seen any breaking fish. Did some blind casting with a spoon without a bump. Going back out now. Want to try a baited jig and bounce it through some of those holes. See what happens.
