You know those little cages with the hermit crabs that the souvenir shops sell? I saw one at a yard sale this past Friday, for 50 cents. So I bought it thinking it would be ideal for this chumming thing. The mesh is small enough to keep the fish and crabs out. If nothing else it would make as good a cricket cage as you can buy at the bait shop. About 7 inches in diameter and 7 inches tall.
I'll be down to the 'Banks in three weeks and give it a shot. Funny you should mention Bebops. Never fished there but planned to on this trip. Anyway, we'll see if putting out a scent trail makes a difference. You think a rising or ebbing tide would be best?
