The Wildlife pier across from Pirates Cove has always been good to us in Sept. Also the small pier at Bebops on 64. Never tried hand lines, we use the round metal 18" traps. Available from Bass Pro or Cabela's for about $7-$8 a piece.
Saw those chumming baits for sale. Was also wondering if they work. We just use chicken necks.
