It was a pretty day for fishing but bites we few and far between.
I'm gonna try your rig suggestion.
Where I fish is where the hot side feeds back into the cold side. Always stay away from the water, current is very strong. What we do is catch your bait fish and the rig on your pole is an egg weight above the swivel and then 3 feet of line to the hook. Some guys free line from the bank and have good luck.

Good to hear about your sister, hope it continues to get better, as well as your back.
