Something else that is really a cool thing to do is...pack a lunch and go to Ocracoke,,,,get up with Rudy Austin and he will take you to Portsmouth Island....which is the next Island down from Ocracoke.There is a deserted ghost town that you can walk through....Post office,General Store,numerous houses,giant church with a widows watch way up high where you can see the whole Island.....It's a really cool thing to do.....it gives you the feeling that you are being watched by those that use to live there....I have done it many times...the feeling does NOT go away!!!!
