Outing From Raleigh - Surf Fishing Questions------

Hello, everyone.

I'll be driving from Raleigh to the coast next weekend for some surf fishing, and I'm hoping you guys can help me out with some advice. I have plenty of experience surf fishing on the gulf coast of Texas but recently relocated to North Carolina, and this will be my first trip to the coast here. Where do you fine people suggest I try? I don't want to drive farther than I need to, but I'd also like to catch some fish. I'd prefer to camp on the beach, but I could stay in cheap motel if you want to recommend a place where camping isn't an option.

Any tips on bait and bait shops would also be great. Thank you very much for your help.
