I've lost very very few fish on circle hooks. When the bite happens tighten the drag and reel...don't jerk. Rarely if ever do I have a fish swallow the hook. Last year caught my biggest drum to date on a circle...50" tl 36" girth a beast landed off ramp 27 with hook perfectly placed in the corner of the mouth.
