The VA Beach Pier is good for spot runs , but I don't know if they are open yet. I've caught a few stripers and a cobia off of that pier , a few pups and a couple of dogfish , mainly around the cleaning tables. Pretty nice king caught off of the end a few years back by someone else - and generally rare for that pier. Ocean front in VA Beach is usually too crowded to fish , but you might get out early or late and find a hole or two.
Probably a better pier and area would be down around Sandbridge. I've heard of some good drum fishing down that way , but I have never tried it.
The Chesapeake Bay Bridge Tunnel pier could be a hotspot right now if anything is moving in or out of the bay. I've never seen any really great holes set up around VA Beach. I guess maybe the water's calmer or the current's weaker than what you see around the OBX.
That's about all I know and I've never been this time of year. I really don't know if any of the piers will be open or not , but you could always fish beside them.
Good luck! Give us a report if you catch any :)
