Weather dependant, there should be mullet in the surf in November. A cast net won't go wrong. Bait shops will have them...just buy the fresh, not frozen. Remove the scales and fillet you a strip.
Beginning late Sept and early Oct, red drum pile out of the sound and hit the beaches to follow the mullet into the surf...that's why fishing close to the inlets can be productive but anywhere along the beach is good.
Find you a little oceanfront cottage anywhere in Hatteras and you will be in hog heaven. I like Avon myself but that time of year..it's all good.
Fish at night for a monster Red. Change your bait often.
Google up how to read the surf and look for a slough.
The fact is...anywhere along the beach from the Chesapeake Bay in Virginia heading south....you can catch Puppy Drum and big Reds in the surf during November. The whole length of the coast is a hotspot.
