All depends on what you like. All my rods are spooled with braid.17 lb. on the 7' up to 50lb on the 12'.Like the fact that it lasts forever and casts like crazy.Downfall one birdsnest and you lose $20.00 worth of line. You will never untangle a birdsnest once it happens with braid.
