back in the day when tv dishes looked like something you where looking for ufo's with, and computers looked like old floor model tv sets, i was spending my vacation at the old london inn. (gone now). this was my first trip to the banks. i had done my surf fishing homework. i couldn't wait till daylight. out i went with my bucket, sand spike, bait, surf rod, and a bottom rig. got down to the surf and cast out. bang i got a bite. i reeled in and looked and thought, i drove 7 hours and the first fish i catch is a sucker fish. where i live we have bottom feeders and we call them suckers. i kept fishing and was catching them 2 at a time. i thought at least they were nice suckers, some about 16" long. of course nobody kept suckers, so i was throwing them back. i heard something and looked around and a man with a cup of coffee said "having any luck". i began to explain nothing but suckers. he just grinned and began to educate me on one of the best eating fish, the whitting or sea mullet. was one of the best vacations of my life.
