It's easier when everybody is catching fish. The fish are "messing with it". Try to hide the hook point in a piece of fishbites bloodworms or tiny piece of cut bait. It's probably going to be small spot, good live bait for the drum rig. I keep them ready to go on the beach in a bucket of ocean water.

You might also want to try after dark with this full moon, looks like daylight at night on the beach when your eyes adjust. High tide is running around 9pm, 10pm, 11pm the next few days.
