King,
You sure don't miss a chance to twist the knife!! Everyone over 35 is "not" decrepit:):)
Your post uses words = "old guy", Medicare, nursing homes etc. Like to just warn you its only gonna get worse for the old folks, and you'll be one too. Know whipper snappers (like you) don't worry about heart stuff, but these things can come on sudden w/o warning. (Btw, was not eligible for Medicare when pacer installed.)
As for rechargeable batteries. They tell you on average battery needs to be replaced every 7 years. Truth is they don't just replace the battery, they cut out whole device and reattach a whole new device to existing wiring.
If we old timers have trouble paying, we know we can turn to the "King" of Kitty Hawk for a "handout"!!
Re: taking house, not sure either if 3 year rule still in effect or it was changed to 5 years. For you young guys, we're talking about changing title of home to someone else years before $$ for nursing care runs out and state takes your home. Something to look into now as part of estate planning. Of course theres chances w/ that too e.g., if person you transfer deed to goes under financially. Also it will impact college aid for parents if they have more than one home.
To keep this post related to rods and reels lets just say the insurance and goverment rules and reg.s are "fishy".
