Eels are striper bait, probably none aroud now.Or at least one big enough to eat an eel.Try bloodworm fishbites,or squid to catch something worth cutting up for bait. You will probably catch spot, croakers or kings (whiting) with the fishbites or squid. Some might be big enough to eat. Use the rest for bait.If you can not catch any bait, go to a fishmarket and buy some fresh spot.Cheeper than the frozen at the tackle shops. If you do see some fresh mullet at the tackle shops the fishmarket spot are probably cheeper and fresher. If you can throw a net, Little Bridge, Bodie Island slough, and the south end of Oregon Inlet bridge are good bets for fresh mullet.
