I have not tried the tica surf rods but have a 10' med heavy tsunami surf rod and like it and no problems.

I came to the conclusion it was the same rod blank from China that Daiwa was using on one of my favorites.

Daiwa had a bad batch with the tips breaking and discontinued them. I have 3 and never had any tips break.

That is bottom fishing in the surf for small stuff and using 3 or 4 oz storm sinker, 15 lb Trilene Big Game.

I have 2 customs I use for lures a 7'5" trout rod and a 10'6" for metal. The rod blanks came from Breakaway.

That would be their Alpha 7'6" and Omega 10'6" I have handled some rods they built there and do a great job.

You might also want to rummage through Daiwa and look for a medium action in that 11'-12' range and try to find it somewhere online.

I do have three Daiwa Sealine 11' rods, it's nice but a bit beefy. I use them for the bigger baits.

I think what you are looking for I was for early spring, several cheaper rods for more distance and didn't find anything at the time.

Also I don't use braid it cuts grooves into your guides over time and it's expensive to replace them.
