Surf rods

I like my Penn 965 for surf fishing. The rod I'm using is a 10', "Off Shore Angler Gold Cup" GC10 CWSG 1-6 OZ 12-25 # LINE. The Reel is like new, I replace another reel on this rod a few year ago and has only seen action for a few seasons. The rod however is starting to show its age. I think it was from Bass Pro Shop & is almost 20 years old. So Those of you using casting gear, what are you using? I can't spend $300+ on a nice St Croix or the like. I want to go to a 11 or 12 ft rod, med-heavy preferred. I have been looking for a used St Croix, but nothing local so far. Heading for Nags Head the last week of September. Like to have it by then. Budget is $200.00 max. Recommendations?
