Jeff,
I use a Catmax 8' from Bass Pro for one. And another older Ugly Stick in 8'. Both are med. action. I use 17 lb. mono.
I've pulled in big rays down to 3" spots. Only been spooled twice. Can't see breaking the bank for maybe two weeks at The Outer Banks.
These are the same combo's I use for Susquehanna River Catfishing.
Biggest catfish was a 32" Channel.
Ricky is the Capt. & owner of the Free Agent sportfishing boat.
He's got to have great equipment.
Enjoy yourself at the Outer Banks, and drop a few fishing reports our way.
