October Oregon Inlet

Which is the Best side of the bridge to fish? Coming down in Oct. To try for some red's been waiting 1 7 yrs to bring my boys in the fall. No 4x4. Any way to walk on where a 4x4 is needed? How is the sound fishing around kitty hawk. Bringing kayaks.
