I meant summer beach driving not the offseason. My understanding of it from before the bridges were built was the road was the beach.

Some of my family used the beach to drive here from Virginia Beach. I think there is a few left in Carova that are still able to do it.

I was told that area used to have something like sink holes and the vehicle frames from them back then still get uncovered after storms.

They used to do shipping out of Norfolk until the boat sank in a storm off Cape Hatteras, they survived and switched over to the railroad.

I still have the original BBQ sauce that came from that railroad back then and is time for another batch. I've been trying to cut it down.
