Just got back from the family vacation in Carova. I never expect much in the summer months in the way of fishing, especially with a southwest wind. Was pleasantly surprised to have good fishing everyday. Tons of Bait the water. Had a school of Minnows being chased by a school of bunker being chased by schools of blues and spanish. I was throwing kastmasters and was either snagging bunker or catching blues in the 12-15" inch or spanish in the 18-20" range. Then after the sun went down, I caught as many blues as I wanted on small chunks of Bunker that I snagged or some spot I caught. Guy beside me got a few nice sea mullet in the 14" range on Bloodworms.
We've been in the house for almost 20 years and that was the first time sight casting for fish with metal lures. Fun Fun Fun.
On a side note I got to the house to find my 3 propane tanks empty that were all full a month ago. A tenant took a flood light bulb and stuck it into the dining room light fixture making the light or the switch usable along with the associated fan that was missing a blade. Since I didn't bring electric tools to fix the light or possibly the switch, I have to hire someone this week to fix it. Had someone on the beach ask me how much profit there was in renting. I told him...not as much as you'd think and to come by the house and I would show him why.
