I take the heads off, my reason is it's better not to be poked from that horn on the head. It can be worth trying them in different ways.

Never tried salting bait, as said and know some people like to do it.

Not really, you might want to try the beach around Frisco Pier if your going to be in that area. The lighthouse jetties might also be good.

Still having more chilly days than warm days right now, I'm ready for some nice weather.
