Oh I agree, but I was under the impression that the temporary bridge was put in because they were having so much trouble keeping the dunes in place there. I could be mistaken.

Just looking at the picture in the link, it looks like a lot of sand has been relocated since I was down at the end of September. I don't remember if it was the first or second N'oreaster of the season, but it was really rough and water was under the temporary bridge and pushing towards the sound. That storm was a little odd anyway because the ocean stayed rough with big swells for a couple of days even after the wind had died down to light and variable, I guess because it was bad to the NE offshore. It was strange to see the surf so churned up with so little wind for 2-3 days.
