Lead for weights

Does anyone know of a good source for lead? Got a smelter and sinker molds as a gift a while back. Tried my first batch this weekend out of tire weights. A lot of the weights now are not lead rather a composite a d not good for the task. ( thank you tree huggers) any thoughts on alternative sources?
