Every September is a little different with what shows up. When it's slow try more of a summer fishing strategy like find an area with a lot of sand flea pieces washing up and fish up close for sea mullet and pompano. Try targeting bluefish early morning and late afternoon. Try moving around with a flounder rig during the day fishing for flounder, could be a lot there.
