It's best not to kill them because it makes a smelly mess on the beach and if you throw one back bleeding it just makes them bite more, I've seen it at the pier.

You can eat the wings. The restaurants used to make scallops out of them. They are suppose to say what it is now but I think I got some last year.

Just cut the wings off at the body and fillet the meat off the wing bone and skin. Cleaning the wing is like cleaning a flounder.
